Vikings earn third seed in Division II NorCal regionals
Colusa top seed in Division 4, while Durham claims four seed in D5
The Pleasant Valley High School varsity baseball team earned the third seed in the 2022 CIF Division II NorCal Baseball Championships.
The 27-3 Vikings will play host to McClatchy High School on Tuesday at 4 p.m. The Lions come in with a record of 28-4 and will be playing the Vikings for the first time, according to MaxPreps. The two schools have played River City, with McClatchy beating them twice in late April, 11-0 and 3-0. The Vikings beat River City 4-3 on March 5. If the Vikings beat McClatchy, they will play the winner of #2 Archbishop Mitty and #7 Clovis East on Thursday at 4 p.m. If Archbishop wins, the Vikings are on the road, but if Clovis upsets Archbishop,
PV will host.
The NorCal Division II regional final will be Saturday at 4:00 PM at the host site of the highest remaining seed. In the 2022 Division III CIF NorCal Baseball Championships, both Foothill High, and Sutter made that bracket. Last week, Pleasant Valley defeated Foothill in the Northern Section Division II Super Regional championships.
On Tuesday, the 21-10 Cougars are the fifth seed and will play at #4 Saint Bernard’s in Eureka. The Crusaders are 24-4 on the year. Sutter is the
sixth seed and, coming off its D3 Baseball Super Regional NSCIF championship win over Gridley, will play Rio Americano on Tuesday.
Colusa claimed the top seed in the 2022 Division IV CIF NorCal Baseball Championships and will host #8 Branson. The Durham High Trojans earned the #4 seed in the 2022 Division IV CIF NorCal Baseball Championships and will host Etna Tuesday at 4 p.m. If Durham wins, it will play the winner of #1 Monte Vista Christian and #8 Washington Tuesday at 4 p.m.
