Time for a new District 2 supervisor
Butte County is a great place to live and farm, however we seriously need a leadership change due to the appalling misinformation coming from District 2 Supervisor Debra Lucero.
She claims she wants to protect our water. Facts clearly demonstrate the opposite. She opposed efforts to bring excess treated Paradise water to Chico to lessen its reliance on ground water wells. She has fought farmers and local landowners’ efforts to form the Tuscan Water District whose goals include protecting domestic wells and prohibiting the sale and transfers of groundwater out of Butte County.
She claims she is working on a solution for North Chico’s flooding problems and has in reality criticized and alienated the Rock Creek Reclamation District directors whose cooperation is vital to developing a solution which could include a designated groundwater recharge area.
She frequently embarrasses and humiliates fellow board members, county staff and constituents when their ideas or view differ from her agenda while claiming a desire to work with all sides for a better tomorrow.
Her opponent, Peter Durfee has dealt with and understands the Chico and Butte County issues needing solutions which include public safety, affordable housing, homelessness and commonsense growth that protects ag land.
We desperately need a cohesive team of supervisors that will put the needs of Butte County ahead of Supervisor Lucero’s personal agenda. Our future is far too important for any more of her reckless nonsense.’
We desperately need Peter Durfee for District 2 Supervisor.
