Kerri Julian, passed away April 10, 2022, at her home in Lake Wildwood, California from malignant melanoma. She was born December 2, 1963, in San Diego, CA to Warren and Connie Grimsby.

In 1974, the Grimsby family moved to Oroville, California. Kerri’s parents trained Labrador retrievers and owned and operated Warcon Kennels.

She attended Oroville High School where she was a cheerleade­r and excelled at running.

After high school, Kerri moved back to San Diego to attend school. During this time, she worked as a nanny for a wonderful family who took her on many yacht adventures.

While living in San Diego, she enlisted in the U.S Army. The Army trained her to be a medic and took her to places like Honduras, Europe and the East Coast. It was during her service in the Army, that she met her

best friend, Rhonda Gardner. They remained close friends for the rest of Kerri’s life.

Once her service in the military was complete, Kerri moved back to

Butte County. She attended Butte College and graduated with her paramedic certificat­ion. While working as a paramedic for Enloe Medical Center, she kept taking classes and eventually graduated from Butte College with her R.N. degree. It was during her EMS work that Kerri met the love of her life, Jeff Julian. He was a fireman for the Yuba City Fire Department. They had lots of adventures together and soon got married at the Wharf to Wharf race in Santa Cruz, CA.

They had a wonderful marriage and spent time

traveling, diving, riding Harley’s, golfing and adoring their numerous dogs.

They enjoyed many years living at Lake Wildwood where they played lots of golf. Unfortunat­ely, Jeff was diagnosed with brain cancer and passed away in 2017. Kerri continued living at

Lake Wildwood. She kept golfing and routinely golfed with a group of women that call themselves the Piggies. She had a blast playing golf, traveling and socializin­g with all of these awesome women. About a year ago, Kerri noticed an abnormal growth on her skin. Unfortunat­ely, it was diagnosed as a malignant melanoma. She underwent multiple treatments, without success and passed away on April 10th at 58 years of age.

Kerri is survived by her father Warren Grimsby, sisters Charmon Walsh and Lindsey Nelson all of Chico, CA. Nephews Izik and Elliot Walsh and nieces Mallori Koplin and Laney Nelson. Her military service will be held in Dixon at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery on Tuesday, June 14th at 9:30 am. Donations may be sent to the
