Prestige care facilities outshine standards

- Staff reports

CHICO » Prestige Assisted Living Centers in Chico, Marysville and Oroville have all received deficiencyfree surveys from the state of California Department of Social Services.

Receiving a deficiencyfree survey is incredibly rare and indicates that the three communities outshined federal and state standards in every area of care, service and safety, according to a press release from Prestige. Senior living communities are evaluated by state officials following a long, unannounced survey, which is overseen on-site over several days. Inspectors judge a community’s performance on safety measures in 15 categories that cover quality of care, service and more.

“I am exceptionally proud of our three assisted living communities in Northern California,” said Mia Mullins, Senior Regional Director of Operations for Prestige Senior Living in a press release. “Seeing these three communities exceed all state and federal expectations speaks volumes of the individualized commitment to care that every one of our staff members brings to caring for seniors.”

Officials assess assisted living communities’ systems and performance within quality measure categories spanning resident satisfaction, safety, quality of care and services, hygiene, food service and more. Survey results let consumers know about the health and safety inspection results of various communities and allow them to track the improvements which a certain senior care provider has made over time.

These communities also offer Prestige’s award-winning Expressions Memory Care Program, according to the release, which provides an invigorating outlet for creativity directed toward people living with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease.
