Chico High, PV High to both run training camps

Both Chico High and Pleasant Valley High schools will host summer camps starting Monday.

Chico High School will be hosting the first of two sessions at Panthers Stadium for girls field hockey. The first one will run June 20-24 with the second session being July 18-22.

Registrati­on for the camps will start at 7:30 a.m. on Monday, with the cost being $80 per player for one session, $150 per player for both sessions. The camp fees include a camp T-shirt.

The camp is for grades fourth through 12th and campers will be grouped by their age and ability. PV GIRLS SOCCER CAMP » The Pleasant Valley girls soccer team and head coach Brenna Valencia are hosting a girls soccer camp starting Monday, which will focus on soccer fundamenta­ls with an emphasis on technical skills relating to positional play. Drills, games and competitio­ns will be used to complete the understand­ing of each skill.

The camp will have skills for each position and age group, and campers will work with coaches and players. The camp is for girls between 8 and 14 years old and no experience is required.

A camp T-shirt is included. Campers are encouraged to wear attire that is ready to play soccer (cleats, shin guards, athletic clothing). Water and sunscreen are encouraged to be brought by campers.

The camp will run from June 20-23 starting at 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Asgard Yard on the Pleasant Valley campus.
