This activist court is just getting started

-

Over the years we’ve heard a lot of Republican prattle about activist liberal judges, so why the silence now that a conservative majority of the Supreme Court has, for the first time in history, overturned a constitutional right. Bet on it — this is just the beginning.

Justice Clarence Thomas is one of six justices that are members of the Federalist Society, an organization with an annual income of $20 million, funded mainly by radical conservative billionaires; a key component of its philosophy states, “that it is emphatically the province and duty of the judiciary to say what the law is, not what it should be.”

Federalist members Thomas, Alito, Kavanaugh, Gorsuch, and Barrett just did the opposite, and Justice Thomas is vowing the same rationale that the Supreme Court used to declare there was no right to an abortion should also be used to overturn cases establishing rights to contraception, same-sex consensual relations, and same-sex marriage.

You can bet he’ll fight tooth and nail if someone brings up reviewing the 1967 Supreme Court decision which legalized inter-racial marriage, just like he fought to keep his wife’s “Stop the Steal” texts to the president’s Chief-of-Staff out of the hands of the 1/6 select committee.

As always, Bob Dylan sums it up nicely: “Old lady judges watch people in pairs — Limited in sex, they dare — To push fake morals, insult and stare — While money doesn’t talk, it swears — Obscenity, who really cares — Propaganda, all is phony.” — Roger S. Beadle, Chico
