Reading Tina Belcher’s story (“Page After Page,” True Tales, EQUUS 482) was like hearing an echo from the past! When I heard about this new magazine called EQUUS that would be dedicated to horse care, I also immediately subscribed. Over the past 40 years, whenever I pulled the current issue out of my mailbox, anything else I might be reading was put aside until I finished each and every article in EQUUS.

Countless times when a problem with one of my horses or a friend’s came up, I would remember seeing an article about it in an issue, search it out to re-read or lend it to that friend. And I guess it shows my age, but even though today it’s a simple matter of going to the computer to look up information, I still find it satisfying to see my shelves filled with every single issue of EQUUS. So, to answer Tina’s question, she’s not alone in being a charter subscriber who still truly appreciates all this magazine has to offer! Karen T. Radzai Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

I imagine that you are receiving many responses to the question Tina Belcher posed, asking if she was the last charter subscriber.

I, too, remember the first advertising for this new magazine named for the horse. I took a chance and signed up, and I never regretted it once in all these years. There was so much to learn in every issue. I was even able to share my own story, of the time when my dog was shot while I was riding my young horse (“Terror on the Trail,” True Tale, EQUUS 253).

I continue to ride nearly every day, now that I am semi-retired. Different horses. Different dogs. But still the same great magazine. Judy Lovatt White Cloud, Michigan
