Tokyo’s Haneda Airport is the testing ground for Panasonic’s newest product: self-driving wheelchair­s, which can be summoned through an app and return themselves when users are done with them. They’ll be further rolled out during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, as part of Panasonic’s drive to diversify.

Challenges

As Panasonic’s consumer electronic­s division has scaled down, the company has had to pivot to enterprise technology. But despite this major shift, Panasonic is still primarily seen as a B2C company, a perception it needs to change to get more mileage from the businessto-business focus. Buzz
