A new way to ease aches
Chair yoga quells arthritis pain, say researchers in the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society. In their study, arthritis sufferers who performed chair yoga twice a week experienced a 32 percent drop in pain scores and an 11 percent decrease in fatigue after 8 weeks. The study authors note that chair yoga, in which participants perform exercises while seated or standing and holding a chair for support, can be helpful for arthritis sufferers whose pain keeps them from traditional exercise.
