First For Women

“I bring in $200 a week giving women rides!”

-

“I’ve been a stay-at-home mom for 14 years, but when my kids became more independent, I was looking for a way to make cash with a flexible schedule so I could still be available for them.

“I enjoy driving, so I thought becoming a driver for a ride-share would be the perfect gig. I drove for one company, but I only did it during the day due to concern for my safety. Then I found See Jane Go (SeeJaneGo.co), a ride-share app for women driving women. “Getting started was easy. They ran a background check, had my car inspected and made sure I had insurance. Then I was assigned a “Super Jane,” a mentor who took me out for a test ride and made sure I was ready.

“Sometimes I have scheduled rides, but I can also drive to a busy area near the airport, for example, and turn the app on. Then if someone needs a ride, I’ll get a notification to pick them up.

“I make sure my car is clean and smells nice, and I provide extras like phone chargers, water and mints. My car even has pink headrest covers and I use pink lights on my dashboard at night so passengers can find my car.

“I work when my kids are in school or at night, for about 15 hours a week, and I earn around $200 a week. I love that this work allows me to get out and meet new people. Most of all, I love the money, which helped me send one of my daughters to camp and the other to concerts. Note: See Jane Go is available in 42 cities and has plans to expand, but there are similar ride-sharing apps, like Kango (KangadoApp.com), which provides rides to kids and teens.”
