These foods cut the risk of fracture by 50%
When scientists at Ohio State University in Columbus reviewed the bone-density data of 10,290 women, they found that those who ate the most fruit, veggies, fish, whole grains and nuts were half as likely to fracture a hip and had significantly less bone loss over the 6-year study than those who ate the least. The reason? These foods are packed with polyphenols and antioxidants that fight the inflammation that weakens bones.
