Use balloon breaths
For those moments when you can’t shake a nagging concern or regret from your mind, Cruise recommends thinking of breathing out the thought as if you were blowing up a balloon. “Every exhale symbolizes the release of old and static ideas,” says Cruise. “Each inhale is a representation of fresh and new opportunities—a chance to be open-minded, willing and connected to new experiences.” To do: Close your eyes and inhale deeply, then exhale in a powerful burst through pursed lips, fully emptying your lungs along with your worries. Repeat for a total of 30 breaths.
