The chic chignon
“I wanted something that felt fresh and clean but still elegant,” says hairstylist Adir Abergel, who created this perfect-for-any-party look for Elizabeth. “And throwing neck-length locks up into a sleek bun keeps sweaty strands from sticking to the neck while ensuring they won’t fall victim to frizz-causing humidity.” What’s more: The swoop of side bangs draws focus to features like gorgeous eyes and high cheekbones.
YOU’LL NEED: Teasing comb, hair elastic, bobby pins, hairspray
STEP 1: Create a deep side part, then sweep hair into a low ponytail and secure with an elastic.
STEP 2: Gently tease the ponytail, then twist it loosely, coiling it around the elastic to create a classic bun. Tuck in the ends and secure with bobby pins.
STEP 3: Use the tail of the comb to pull small sprigs of hair out of the bun. Tip: Spritz the flat side of the comb (opposite the teeth) with hairspray and use it to smooth down any flyaways.
