Great day trip: Coronado
Hop a 15-minute ferry ride ($8.50 per person) to the picturesque island of Coronado, also known as “The Crown City.” Once there, kick back on the 2-mile Coronado Beach, go kayaking, catch a show at Village Theater, browse the nearly 100 shops on Orange Avenue or enjoy dishes featuring Coronado’s famous fresh lobster.

On August 12 and 13, head to the fine arts festival at Liberty Station in San Diego. The event showcases more than 200 artists, including painters, sculptors and photographers. You can also enjoy street food, live entertainment and a KidsWalk, which includes interactive art projects.
