2 tsp. onion pow­der

2 tsp. gar­lic pow­der

1 Tbs. tomato paste

1 Tbs. mus­tard

1⁄4 cup hot chili sauce,

like Sriracha

1⁄2 cup honey

1 Tbs. minced fresh thyme 2 lbs. chicken drum­sticks 2 cups low-sodium

chicken stock These chicken legs can be read­ied the night be­fore, so all you have to do a few hours pre-party is plug in your cooker

In bowl, whisk first 7 in­gre­di­ents. Sea­son to taste with salt and pep­per. Add drum­sticks; toss to coat. Cover; place in re­frig­er­a­tor to mar­i­nate at least 1 hr. or overnight.

In slow cooker, com­bine chicken with mari­nade and chicken stock. Cover; cook on high 4 to 6 hrs.

We used hot chili sauce to give these drum­sticks a jolt of spice and a dose of cap­saicin. This com­pound has been shown to rev me­tab­o­lism by 30 per­cent for up to 3 hours, plus stim­u­late the pro­duc­tion of feel-good en­dor­phins to help keep guests happy all night long.
