Even eas­ier! Use pre­made dough

These buns are a snap to put to­gether. But some days we just don’t have hours to wait for dough to rise, so our test kitchen di­rec­tor found a savvy short­cut:

Im­mac­u­late Bak­ing Com­pany Or­ganic Cres­cent Rolls ($6 for 8 oz., su­per­mar­kets). They form a rich, but­tery base that beau­ti­fully com­ple­ments our tangy cran­berry fill­ing. To do: Un­roll dough and press the per­fo­rated edges to­gether to form a large rec­tan­gle, then spread with cran­berry mix­ture, roll up and cut as recipe di­rects. Place in muf­fin wells and bake at 375°F for 12 min­utes.
