Clever way to ensure a freezer is working properly
You’ve lowered the temperature in your freezer, but food still isn’t staying as cold as it should. Before calling a repairman, check to see if a broken rubber door seal is to blame. To do: Close the freezer door over a dollar bill, leaving half of the bill exposed. Slowly pull the bill out. If it slides out with no resistance, there’s a gap in the refrigerator’s seal that’s letting cold air out—a problem that can be solved by simply installing a new door seal.
