First For Women

“I went from sick to fit at the age of 56!”

Mitzi Champion listened as her doctor prescribed antidepressants, anti-seizure pills and ADD meds. Medical professionals couldn’t identify what was wrong with her, but Mitzi knew pills weren’t the answer. Now I’m taking three mindaltering medications, and I don’t even know if they are helping, she thought.

I need to find a real way to feel better!

Taking charge of her health, Mitzi started researching nutrition and began following a “100 Days of Real Food” challenge, cutting out all packaged fare. “I dropped four pant sizes,” she recalls. Next, Mitzi incorporated advice from Catherine Shanahan, M.D., like eating minimally processed unrefined oils— coconut oil, olive oil, duck fat and lard.

On a typical day, Mitzi would enjoy a cheese omelet with bacon and a protein-rich salad with homemade olive oil dressing. “Just limiting processed foods and eating healthy fats was the recipe for optimal health,” she shares. That delicious keto fuel also improved Mitzi’s mental clarity, strength and mood. “I felt like I was aging in reverse!”

Following a keto lifestyle, Mitzi recalls losing at least 20 pounds in one month. “People were saying, ‘Are you going to the gym? Your arms look great.’ And I’d say, ‘Nope, I’m just losing fat.’”

Now, Mitzi is a health coach and takes zero prescription pills. “I no longer have monthly $150 copays for those meds,” she cheers.

“It’s never too late to start. There are women who are

20 years older than I am having miraculous recoveries. I’m walking on cloud nine!”
