Cookie-kissed cocoa
“Creamy hot chocolate is my family’s favorite treat for warming up on chilly days,” shares Charles Grayauskie, FIRST associate food editor. “This year, for an extra-special holiday treat I decided to float festive cookies right on top! To make: Mix a (16.5 oz.) tube of refrigerated sugar cookie dough with 1 tsp. of ground cinnamon, roll out, then cut out snowflakes with a cookie cutter. Bake as directed, then sprinkle with confectioners’ sugar. In a pot, steam 1 qt. of milk over medium heat, stir in 1⁄4 cup of cocoa powder, 1⁄4 cup of sugar and 1 tsp. of vanilla. Pour into mugs and top with cookies. It’s so fun and cozy—and sure to win raves!”
