2-minute trick prevents back pain
You take breaks at work to ensure you aren’t sitting all day, and it’s just as important to keep that habit up at home, according to a study in Ergonomics in Design. Analyzing remote workers during the pandemic, experts found chairs and computer screens at the wrong height and improperly used armrests, a recipe for back pain. But taking a 2-minute break every half hour to get up minimizes strain, says study author Kermit Davis, Ph.D. In addition, sitting on a pillow to adjust chair height, keeping a rolled towel behind your lower back or using books to raise your monitor to eye level protects posture.
