Relaxing way to improve memory

-

The holidays call up cherished memories, like baking cookies with your grandma or sing-alongs by the fire. Even though these events happened years ago, researchers at the University of California San Diego School of Medicine found that getting sufficient sleep now helps keep those memories vivid for years to come. That’s because during sleep, the brain replays both nostalgic memories as well as new ones. Through this process, researchers say brain cells are able to store and consolidate multiple memories, ensuring that details are easily recalled and nothing is “overwritten” or lost as we continue to make new memories.
