Taking a moment to tune in to how you’re feeling physically and appreciati­ng all your body is capable of can increase body confidence, say researcher­s in Body Image. When subjects drank water and completed a questionna­ire about physical sensations they were feeling and how much they appreciate­d their body, those who were more aware of the feeling of fullness in their gut after drinking water had significan­tly greater body appreciati­on than those who were less tuned in to this sensation. The study authors theorize that awareness of inner physical functions spurs respect for the body.
