Surprising way to boost body image
Taking a moment to tune in to how you’re feeling physically and appreciating all your body is capable of can increase body confidence, say researchers in Body Image. When subjects drank water and completed a questionnaire about physical sensations they were feeling and how much they appreciated their body, those who were more aware of the feeling of fullness in their gut after drinking water had significantly greater body appreciation than those who were less tuned in to this sensation. The study authors theorize that awareness of inner physical functions spurs respect for the body.
