Cherry Cheese Danish

1 Tbs. confection­ers’ sugar + additional

6 oz. cream cheese, at room temp.

1 (21 oz.) can cherry pie filling

1 (8 oz.) tube refrigerat­ed crescent roll dough sheet

Heat oven to 350°F. Coat large baking sheet with cooking spray. Stir 1 Tbs. sugar into cream cheese. Drain pie filling, reserving 2⁄3 cup pie filling liquid and 3⁄4 cup cherries. Unroll dough; cut into 9 (each about 3"x21⁄2") rectangles; place 11⁄2" apart on baking sheet. Dividing equally, spread with cream cheese then reserved liquid, leaving 1⁄4" border. Bake until lightly browned, 8–10 min. Let cool. If desired, sprinkle with confection­ers’ sugar. Top with cherries.
