“I saved $100 a week on groceries!”

-

After her 63rd birthday, Theresa Ruic looked in the mirror and had more questions than answers: Why do I keep gaining weight if I’ve spent the past 50 years ‘on a diet’? And why do I feel worse with each passing year? Setting her sights on the future, she knew: Enough is enough.

When Theresa came across Stephanie Laska’s book Dirty Lazy Keto, she recalls being skeptical. “I couldn’t believe someone could lose weight while eating so much fat.” But she gave it a try, and by day three, Theresa felt renewed energy.

She melted 17 pounds off in the first month. Having groceries delivered to her home helped quiet Theresa’s cravings. “I didn’t have to walk down the cookie and pastry aisle!” Bonus: “I saved $100 a week, I no longer craved bread and I could eat ice cream!”

This flexible, forgiving approach to keto even worked throughout quarantine. She quips, “Losing weight is definitely possible even during stressful times!” In all, Theresa shed 91 pounds in 9 months and improved her asthma. Her doctor also took her off the two blood pressure medications she’d taken for 20 years. “Keto is life-changing!”

Theresa’s favorite fashion accessory is proof: “I’ve drilled 14 new holes in my leather belt!” She cheers, adding, “I’m still surprised when I look in the mirror.”
