On a buffet table: A lush and lovely amaryllis

-

“Simply filling the space around a single-stem amaryllis transforms the plant into a full arrangement that’s perfect on a buffet table,” notes Chapman. To start, pick up an amaryllis growing kit (at garden centers) and fill pot with included peat moss or potting mix, then nestle in the bulb. Drop the pot into a slightly larger red pail. Cut branches of scotch broom to about 12" and tuck into the gap between the pot and pail to form a tall “collar.” Wrap jute around collar several times and tie into a bow. To finish, tuck a few mini baubles into the grass and a few wooden stars into the jute. Place in indirect sunlight; keep bulb moist.
