Keep Whiskers from the poinsettias

-

Colorful poinsettias really brighten up your house, but your cat sniffs around the pots, and you worry she’ll knock them over or try to eat a leaf and get an upset stomach. The easy fix: Keep her at bay with a few drops of lemon extract. Simply place a few drops of the extract on a couple of cotton balls, then lay them around the base of plants (pull the balls slightly apart to spread them). Cats hate the strong smell of citrus, so she’ll stay clear of the poinsettia. Plus, the cotton balls look a bit like snow and blend in with winter decorations.
