Facial puffiness
Sweeping on a sparkly eye shadow is a simple way to add dazzle to any look, but those particles always seem to find their way onto cheeks, so you look more glitter-face than gorgeous. Makeup artist Lisa Eldridge, who’s worked with Nicole Kidman and Kate Winslet, suggests using an eye shadow primer (we like Milani Eyeshadow Primer, Target.com) before applying shadow. “The primer’s ‘sticky’ consistency grabs the shadow so it doesn’t flake down.” Also smart: Opt for a liquid shadow (we like Stila Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow, Sephora.com). It dries in place to further thwart fallout.
