OCEAN WAVE QUILTERS PIVOT FOR 2020 SHOW
Bob and Kathy Silva, of Fort Bragg, admire an open-air quilt show put on by the Ocean Wave Quilters on June 27.
FORT BRAGG » The Coronavirus put a brake on Fort Bragg’s annual quilt show, which typically brings in at least 500 attendees and several hundred craft entries.
The Ocean Wave Quilters decided instead to celebrate their craft more modestly. On June 27, 20 of the quilters worked out a deal with the City of Fort Bragg to
display 60 quilts outside the Veterans Memorial Building, near the corner of Laurel and N. Harrison streets.
A similar, drive- by show in
April saw members displaying their works outside their homes.
Ocean Waves typically raises about $2,000 at the quilt shows
