Leggett firefighters test positive for Coronavirus
LEGGETT » Mendocino County Health Officer Dr. Noemi Doohan confirmed six new COVID-19 cases at the Leggett Fire Station in Mendocino County. Twelve firefighters were tested from the station for the disease and six came back positive. Two of the six firefighters that tested positive were from Mendocino County.
The six firefighters are in stable condition and are in home isolation as well as their close contacts. Due to the outbreak, the Leggett Fire Station along with the Laytonville Fire Station was closed down for 72 hours for what officials were calling “a deep clean.”
Doohan said she believes that the outbreak at the Leggett Fire Station is fully contained, due to the quick response of Cal Fire and the County of Mendocino as well as Fire Chief Brandon Gunn’s leadership.
