Rack ‘em up!

- ‘TallMike’ Bohanon

It was the first week of July and I was surprised to see a picture showing people playing pool in Cotati.

Yeah, Cotati is a pretty cool place and all that, but why would they be allowed to play pool, while we can’t? If x-number of viral cases per capita is a deciding factor, why would Fort Bragg be any more restricted than Cotati?

I dunno, an example of the often disparate and sometimes obnoxiously unfair rules in force across our state and in other states I guess. What was surprising in the picture? I noticed that no one was wearing masks, the tables crowded, with multiple people standing at the table at the same time. You seldom see four people at the table at the same time, I dunno but that is what it looked like.

In Fort Bragg, we have a low number of people in our local population, but become busy on weekends. Did you ever play a game spotting where license plates of oncoming cars were coming from on a road trip? Eventually, switching to guess the type of car because not many out- of-state license plates were seen?

Last weekend when a local went to look around, they reported finding cars from nine different states parked at Glass Beach. We need — and want — uninterrupted travel from all over the country for our economy, does that invalidate what locals should live without, in the effort to help? I don’t think so. We are doing our part, trudging carefully forward.

Why did Hugh Miller call Bernillo’s Pizzeria for information?? So that his new pool table would be set-up to be another “perfect playing” nine-foot pool table!

Hugh has played but a few games of pool since March. Sequestered for months now, he renovated his garage to accommodate the new table which has taken longer than he thought possible. But that is in the past now, he just needs his table set-up by someone that knows how to do it right.
