City seeks applicants for Harbor Commission

FORT BRAGG » Applicatio­ns are being accepted by the City of Fort Bragg from persons interested in serving as appointees to the Noyo Harbor District Board of Commission­ers, also known as the Noyo Harbor Commission.

Two positions are eligible for four-year appointmen­ts which will run from Oct. 31, 2020 to Oct. 31, 2024. One of these positions is a city-appointed position. The other is a joint city/ county-appointed position and this appointee will serve as the Chair of the Noyo Harbor Commission.

The Fort Bragg City Council appoints two of the five members of the commission; the County of Mendocino appoints two of the five members; and the Mendocino County Board of Supervisor­s and City Council jointly appoint the Chair.

To be eligible for appointmen­t to the Noyo Harbor Commission, youmust reside within the boundaries of theNoyoHar­bor District. The Harbor District’s boundary encompasse­s 43 square miles and extends from the community of Cleone on the north to the community of Caspar on the south. It includes all of the land within the City of Fort Bragg and extends inland approximat­ely four miles. Persons interested in appointmen­t are urged to contact City Clerk June Lemos at 961-1694 to obtain an applicatio­n form.

Applicatio­ns are due no later than Friday, Oct. 16, by 5 p.m. Depending on the number of applicatio­ns, the City Council may choose to interview applicants at a specialmee­ting or at the regular City Council meeting on Oct. 26.
