Writers of the Mendocino Coast monthly meeting

Emily Lloyd-Jones will cover the basics of using emotional beats to plot a young adult or middle-grade book. From the opening chapter to the climactic ending, a character's emotional journey is one of the most important aspects of writing. An author can more effectively create a gripping and compelling story by outlining this beforehand.

Lloyd-Jones is the author of the Sunday Times bestseller The Drowned Woods, the Indie bestseller The Bone Houses, and several other young adult books. Her middlegrade novels include Unseen Magic and Unspoken Magic. She is the winner of the 2023 Tir na n-Og English language award.

Sunday, February 18th, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Activities Room of the Community Center of Mendocino, 998 School Street, Mendocino.
