Allen D. Ruppel has earned distinction as the president and cofounder of the Unity in Hope School System, a nonprofit organization dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty in Islamabad, Pakistan. Founded in 2019 to assist families living in extreme poverty, the Christian schools are the only tuition-free institutions in the economically deprived areas of Iqbal Town, Islamabad. Members of all faith traditions are welcome. The organization also includes a community center that offers business start-up micro-loans, tutoring, a computer lab and many other community services. The organization receives no government assistance and is reliant on philanthropic support. Mr. Ruppel takes no compensation, and the organizational finances are managed in the United States; they are available to anyone upon request. Lauded for his ability to bring together a diverse array of people, ethnicities and social classes, Mr. Ruppel has remained dedicated to finding a common ground and purpose for those under his leadership for over two decades. Prior to his current work at Unity in Hope, he served as the founder and executive director of Unity in Motion in Milwaukee’s central city beginning in 2000.
Mr. Ruppel initially served as a member of the United States Navy, during which time he was a navigation team member of the fifth nuclear submarine to circumnavigate the world. In subsequent years, Mr. Ruppel continued to work in the civilian sector in various management positions at Northwestern Mutual for 15 and a half years.
Mr. Ruppel works diligently to build long-term relationships; he is best noted for his ability to build trust and show compassion for those he serves. He is the treasurer of the board of directors for the Hope Christian Schools Network and a member of the board of directors for the Center for Urban Teaching. He also serves as the development director for Jacarrie Kicks for Kids Inc.
EDUCATION HIGHLIGHTS
Mr. Ruppel is a 1979 graduate of North High School in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance from the University of WisconsinWhitewater, graduating summa cum laude in 1989.

Mr. Ruppel has been recognized as a Marquis Who’s Who Top Executive. In addition, he received the Positively Milwaukee Award in the “Inspiring Veteran” category in 2022 and the Milwaukee Brewers Nellie Global Award. Additional accolades include Northwoods League Fond du Lac Dock Spiders Military Hero, Milwaukee Brewers Hero of the Game, the Heiser Ford Unsung Hero Award, the Milwaukee Young Urban League Community Service Award, and the Milwaukee Bucks Community Service Award.
