Inflight dining has taken on a new meaning with Heathrow launching a food and drink pre-order service via the airport app in partnership with US provider Grab. The service covers at least one restaurant per terminal, with more to come.
The app allows users to pre-order, check turnaround time, and collect from a dedicated collection point when they arrive. Grab currently serves 20 airports in the US, with Heathrow the first in the UK to offer the service. Each restaurant signed up will have a dedicated point for orders to come through to a tablet, which also allows staff to communicate directly with customers. Grab is communicating the launch to US customers, who can use the Grab app.
