USINPAC to help place Indian Americans in Biden-Harris team
A COMMUNITY organization in the US is on a mission to provide opportunities for Indian Americans in the upcoming new administration led by President elect Joe Biden.
The US-India Political Action Committee (USINPAC), a bipartisan community organization, is working with key stakeholders to provide opportunities for Indian to serve in the incoming Biden-Kamala Harris government.
The group held a panel discussion on the transition process and how its membership can become involved with the incoming administration, USINPAC said in a media release.
Panelists spoke about the large number of positions the Biden-Harris administration will need to fill – nearly 4,000 – and how to get young people with a passion for public service involved. They also spoke about building the community and making a commitment to public service.
USINPAC Chairman, Sanjay Puri said: ‘There is a lot of excitement about this new administration and USINPAC is working with key stakeholders to provide opportunities for Indian Americans who want to serve in this administration’.
‘USINPAC will be reaching out to provide the best and the brightest from our community to the Biden-Harris administration,’ Puri said.
Panelist, Asian American Pacific Islander Director for Biden-Harris Amit Jani said: ‘We saw unprecedented involvement from the Indian American community this election,’ said.
‘President-elect Biden has promised that his administration will reflect the diversity of this country, including that of the South Asian and Indian American communities. We have Indian Americans heavily involved in the transition agency review teams. There is always someone worth liaising with.’
The USINPAC is a bipartisan nonprofit organization that leverages the over 4.3 million Indian Americans to bring about outcomes that matter.
