Shelton consoles Voice pal during her divorce drama
BLAKE SHELTON is giving Kelly Clarkson a shoulder to cry on during her divorce from husband Brandon Blackstock — and all the attention reportedly has lover Gwen Stefani fit to be tied!
“I get why Gwen is pissed,” tattles a source. “Suddenly he’s on the phone and texting to comfort his newly single friend — who just happens to be attractive and talented.”
The drama between Blake, 43, and the 50-year-old platinum blond bombshell, who have been dating for five years with no wedding in sight, mushroomed when Kelly, 38, split from hubbyof-six-years Brandon — and her co-mentor on The Voice turned to help her.
“Gwen is used to being the focus of Blake’s attention, especially since they’ve been in lockdown together these past three months,” notes the source.
“But when Kelly recently contacted Blake to tell him there was trouble in paradise between her and
her husband, it seems that’s all Blake’s been talking about.”
Blake feels close to the couple since Brandon manages both his and Kelly’s careers. And after Kelly and Brandon began dating in 2012, Blake pestered the manager to propose, even offering to marry them since he’s an ordained minister.
Meanwhile, Kelly’s role as a work colleague has added to their closeness.
“They argue and fuss a lot on The Voice, but it’s part of what makes the show interesting,” says the source.
“They have this sort of edgy chemistry between them, and they share the same sense of humor.”
Now, his attention to Kelly has Gwen on edge, dishes a source.
“They are both country singers, and … Kelly is a downhome Texas girl who isn’t a fan of the limelight, and Blake is happiest when he’s home on his ranch in Oklahoma hunting, fishing and driving his ATV through the mud.
“Gwen, on the other hand, always looks like a Barbie doll and prefers the Beverly Hills lifestyle.
“And while Gwen eats like a bird, Blake and Kelly both enjoy a good meal, and they’ve supported each other as they’ve tried to lose weight over the years.”
The source also notes that this is the first time Blake and Kelly have ever been unmarried at the same time.
“Maybe if Gwen knew for sure what the future holds for her and Blake, she wouldn’t be so upset.”
