Music mogul set to take a money beating as wife splits
MONEYBAGS rap mogul Dr. Dre is reeling in shock after his wife of 24 years, Nicole Young, socked him with divorce papers — and is set to claim at least half of his whopping $1 billion fortune!
Sources blab that the 55-year-old hip-hop honcho — who founded the huge Beats Electronics brand — had no prenup and was blindsided by the June 29 filing of his 50-yearold spouse.
“Nicole was going to file for divorce months ago, but he talked her out of it,” snitches an insider. “He wasn’t aware of this filing, so it’s a big shock for him. She’s done with him.”
Co-producer of the 2015 biopic Straight Outta Compton, Dr. Dre — real name Andre Romelle Young — has a checkered past, including allegations of abusive behavior, for which he apologized. In addition to his two children with Nicole — son Truice, 23, and daughter Truly, 19 — the Let It Ride singer has Curtis, 38, La Tanya, 37, Marcel, 29, and Andre Jr., who died of an apparent drug overdose in 2008.
Several gals, including his ex-fiancée Michel’le and hip-hop writer Dee Barnes, have accused him of being a physically abusive lout.
“Twenty-five years ago, I was a young man drinking too much and
structure in my life,” Dre admitted in 2015. “However, none of this is an excuse for what I did.”
He insisted that since getting hitched to Nicole: “Every day I’m working to be a better man for my family, seeking guidance along the way.
“I’m doing everything I can so I never resemble that man again. I apologize to the women I’ve hurt. I deeply regret what I did.” been fed up with the fake doc for some time.
“He’s been no angel,” says the insider. “She grew tired of living a farce. They’ve been leading separate lives for a long while now and were married in name only.
“Nicole … has her own life to live, and she’s demanding spousal support.
“Everyone suspects he’ll have to cough up whatever she wants.”
