EX-WIFE SUES TO MUZZLE ELTON!
ELTON JOHN’S ex-wife, Renate
Blauel, is trying to stop
the Rocketman from blabbing
about their four-year
marriage that ended when
he came out of the closet.
The pair had signed a nondisclosure
pact to “never
discuss the intimate details
of their marriage,” which
lasted from 1984 to 1988,
and she’s gone to a British
court demanding an injunction
against parts of his
memoir, Me Elton John.
Once a serious cocaine
abuser, Elton later explained
he was in a funk over splitting
from a boyfriend and a
junkie when he wed Renate,
saying: “A drug addict thinks
like this: ‘I’ve had enough
boyfriends, and that’s not
made me happy, so I’ll have
a wife — that will change
everything.’
“And I loved Renate, but
you know, it is one of the
things I regret most in my
life, hurting her.”
