REESE THOUGHT GAY JUST MEANT HAPPY!

Big Little Lies indeed. Naïve REESE WITHERSPOON admits she was clueless homosexuality existed until she landed in Hollywood!

“No one spoke to me about sexuality when I was a teenager,” explains the 44-yearold southern belle raised in Nashville, Tenn. “I didn’t understand what homosexuality was. My grandparents didn’t explain it; my parents didn’t explain it,” she says. “I had to learn [about it] from somebody I met on an audition in Los Angeles.” Back home, granny dismissed Reese’s revelation, saying: “‘Homosexuality is very rare, Reese. That’s not a thing that happens very often.’” The old chat crept back decades later, popping up in a scene of Reese’s new Hulu series, Little Fires Everywhere. In it, she plays a mom struggling to accept her daughter’s attraction to the same sex.
