SNAFU ALMOST KILLED GLADIATOR RUSS!
TINSELTOWN tough guy Russell Crowe
almost didn’t do Gladiator because he
thought the script he was given was such
a mess he wanted to feed it to the lions!
“The script that they had was so bad,”
the 56-year-old beefcake told late night
host Jimmy Fallon — but it turned out he
had the wrong version!
Fortunately, a producer gave him the
updated version and convinced him to
do the role of a Roman general demoted
to gladiator — because the 20-year-old
movie racked up five Oscars, including
Best Actor for Russell!
