A MOTHER’S depression can lead to behavior

problems in her children, according to a new

study. Australian researchers examining levels

of depression in 900 mothers before, during and

after pregnancy also analyzed the development

and behavior of their children.

They found “the longer a mother suffered maternal

depression, the worse the outcomes for the child,” says study

author Katrina Moss, a research officer in the School of Public

Health at the University of Queensland.
