FED-UP CLOONEY STUNS AMAL: I WANT OUT!

Marriage drama over move back to Italian party palace

-

CRAMPED George Clooney has rocked wife Amal with a shocking plan — he wants to quit L.A. and move to his lakeside mansion in Italy, triggering a new marriage crisis that could put his $500 million fortune at stake, insiders say.

“He’s bored with being cooped up in L.A. and misses the culture and serenity in Lake Como, which is George’s favorite place in the world,” spills a source.

“He’s spent every summer in Italy since he bought the place, and he gets itchy feet just thinking about it.”

The 59-year-old Ocean’s Eleven hunk, his 42-year-old wife and their three-year-old twins, Ella and Alexander, have been holed up in his converted bachelor pad in Studio City, Calif. Sources say his craving for an Italian move has prompted clashes.

“Seeing George moaning about where he’d rather be is frustrating to Amal and it’s led to some serious bickering,” the insider blabs.

“Part of the problem, it’s just George and Amal and the kids in that house. The kids are doing great and have their own playhouse in back.

“But the parents are at each other’s throats!”

Sources spill Lake Como is the last place Amal wants to be! “Amal’s not a huge fan of L.A. either, but she’s a realist and she believes it’s the safest place for the family to be quarantining right now,” reveals the insider.

Sources fear if she won’t agree to the move, he may split by himself!

“Their California house used to be lively with friends and family and get-togethers, but George and Amal are sick of the sight of each other. That’s why he needs to get away to Lake Como — by himself,” says the insider.

The Solaris star first laid eyes on the stately 18th-century Villa Oleandra almost 20 years ago while on a motorcycle tour through Italy with his buddy Rande Gerber, hubby of supermodel Cindy Crawford.

“George likes to tell the story of how his motorcycle broke down in front of the entrance and the owners came out to invite them in,” dishes the insider. “It was love at first sight, and George made them an offer they couldn’t refuse!

“He scooped it up for $7.5 million and bought the adjoining property, making it an impenetrable fortress! Up until Amal came into his life, it was his party palace!”

Friends fear George’s Como sickness could be the final straw for the pair. The couple have squabbled over their living arrangements, George’s partying, his choice of friends and child rearing in recent years, insiders claim.

Tattles the insider: “It’s highly likely George will pack a bag and retreat back to Europe on his own at some point soon!”
