FUMING Miley Cyrus refuses to talk with dad Billy Ray after he got secretly engaged to Aussie songbird Firerose, who’s young enough to be one of his daughters, spies spill.
The 61-year-old Achy Breaky Heart singer put a bauble on the finger of the mid-20s beauty, whose real name is Rose Hodges. She is close to the same age as his kids with ex-wife Tish, who include Miley, 29, and Noah, 22.
The cradle-robbing romance has reportedly grossed out the Wrecking Ball singer.
“Miley was already shocked and appalled that Billy Ray and Firerose were hooking up, so now that he’s stuck a ring on this gal’s finger, it’s a step beyond and a real kick in the teeth,” dishes an insider.
“Miley’s very protective of her mom, and the consensus is that their dad’s being a jackass and throwing his life and money away on this girl.”
Billy Ray got close to the blond singer-songwriter when they worked on their 2021 single New Day, but it wasn’t until September that their engagement went public.
As GLOBE reported, Tish, 55, who hasn’t lived with
Billy Ray since 2020, filed for divorce a third time in April, but their kids hoped they’d reconcile.
“Tish has filed for divorce before and taken him back and everyone kind of thought that would happen this time too,” tattles the tipster. “But now that Billy’s proposed to Firerose that’s never going to happen.” And Miley, who’s currently with musician Maxx Morando, 23, won’t talk to her dad. “She’s now wondering if he’s just incapable of growing up and she’s made the hard choice to distance herself from him,” says the source.
