CROCODILE DUNDEE IS WASTING AWAY!

-

CROCODILE Dundee star Paul Hogan’s body has been ravaged by kidney disease and drug treatment that’s left him so weak the macho star can’t even open a jar!

Now 83, the candid Aussie confesses, “I’ve been better. I had a problem in the kidney and the treatment fixed it, but it shrunk me.

“I’ve lost all my body fat and the muscles all shrank and it left me feeble. I get [my son] Chance to open jars for me.”

It’s been a rapid decline for Paul, who shot to international fame playing Australian Outback bushman Mick Dundee in the 1986 blockbuster.

He says he was healthy until just a few years ago. Then, all hell broke loose.

“I was still fit,” he claims. “I’d take out most 40-year-olds, and then I turned 80, and it’s lovely, that saying: ‘Turning 80 is not for sissies,’ because things start to fall apart.” He now suffers from retroperitoneal fibrosis, which is a benign growth near a kidney, and was also recently fitted for a pacemaker.

Hogan explains he was put on steroids, which are “supposed to make people fat,” but he just kept getting thinner.

“I can’t put on an ounce of weight,” he admits, adding the steroids make him feel as though he’s “held together by string.

“I’m now in the business of trying to put a bit of fat on, because you feel the cold too much when you’ve got no body fat.”

Paul also says he’d like to go back Down Under for his final days but stays in Tinseltown because he wants to be near 24-year-old wild child musician Chance, his son with his third ex-wife — and Crocodile Dundee co-star — Linda Kozlowski.

Wistfully, Paul says there’s “something about Australia that is friendlier and more laid-back.”
