SELENA’S KILLER DOESN’T DESERVE PAROLE!

-

PAROLE boards often face tough decisions about letting people out of prison, but it shouldn’t be a close call if Yolanda Saldívar — who murdered singer Selena in 1995 — tries for freedom when her case comes up next March.

Yolanda, now 63, keeps insisting the shooting was an accident and believes she’s been punished enough after nearly 30 years in the can.

“She feels like she’s a political prisoner at this point,” says a relative. “She believes she has more than served her time.”

Baloney! If anyone deserves the maximum term — life behind bars — it’s Yolanda. This was a heinous crime — the savage killing of the 23-yearold singer, who was played by Jennifer Lopez in a 1997 movie.

Yolanda got caught robbing the singer and was about to be fired as Selena’s fan club boss. When confronted in a Corpus Christi, Texas, hotel room, Yolanda fatally shot the rising star in cold blood.

The women were reportedly arguing over an estimated $60,000 Selena believed Yolanda embezzled by forging the singer’s name on checks.

Yolanda, then 34, pulled a snub-nosed .38 caliber revolver, and when the young songbird tried to flee, she shot her in the back. The singer later died from the tremendous loss of blood, which was NO accident.

Yolanda had loaded the gun with hollow-point bullets, which cause tremendous damage. She claimed she got the gun because she had wanted to kill herself — and shot Selena by accident.

Yeah, right! It’s pretty hard to shoot someone who’s running away if you are pointing the gun at yourself.

Saldívar was caught with her hand in the cookie jar and was trying to save herself from possibly being reported and punished. So she gunned down her accuser.

And the verdict was no tough call! On Oct. 23, 1995, the jury deliberated a mere two hours to decide she was guilty.

Yolanda received the maximum sentence of life in prison with no eligibility of parole for 30 years. She reportedly has a spotless, good behavior record in prison — but so what?

She’s as cold-blooded a killer as it gets. If Saldívar tries for parole, she’ll plead with the board for mercy — something she never gave Selena!
