HUMILIATED Jennifer Lopez is freaking out after being forced to cancel a string of concerts amid slow record and ticket sales, according to insiders who snicker the diva’s too embarrassed to show her face!
Jenny from the Block, 54, dramatically pulled the plug on seven upcoming concerts with buzz building she did it to save face due to lousy ticket sales.
“J.Lo’s feeling awfully vulnerable and embarrassed,” spills an insider. “Canceling these dates was the last thing she ever wanted to do. But it’s better than playing in a near-empty stadium or being ordered to cancel by concert bosses.
“To her credit, Jennifer’s being proactive. But it doesn’t take away how crushed she is. She really made it her mission to beat younger talent and stars from her age group, but it backfired.”
Sources say the actresssinger fears her star is fading and she’s desperately struggling to keep pace with younger songbirds like Taylor Swift, 34, Billie Eilish, 22, Ariana Grande, 30, and Dua Lipa, 28, and more mature singers like Beyoncé, 42, Katy Perry, 39, and Lady Gaga, 38.
Her This Is Me … Now tour, two films and album dropped at the same time in February.
However, after an initial rush, the album hit an underwhelming No. 38 on the Billboard 200. Now she’s been forced to cancel several dates on her tour due to crummy ticket sales.
“On top of this, she’s also dealing with marriages issues. Things with Ben [Affleck] aren’t good. They’re not getting along very well these days,” snipes the insider.
And now her vanity tour is hurting, says the source.
“This has been a wake-up call that she’s not indestructible,” notes the insider. “She’d like to crawl under a rock. Mostly, she’s at home licking her wounds and moping.”
