The latest trend in menswear is creating a luxe store you’ll want to lounge around in.

“Guys don’t need another retail store to go to,” says all-american designer Todd Snyder—“not unless it can be a one-stop shop, a place you want to hang out.” With an in-store café and private tailor, Snyder’s eponymous flagship (25 E. 26th St., 917242-3482; toddsnyder.com) on Madison Square Park is one of several new menswear destinations offering guys more than just style during their visit.

Saks Fifth Avenue’s new location (225 Liberty St., 646344-6300; saksfifthavenue.com) at Brookfield Place caters to every conceivable whim, with an in-house Sharps barber, a Fika coffee outpost, an apothecary, a Leather Spa for shoe repairs, and even a place to charge your phone. “We layered on services like the ‘Power Lunch,’ where customers can privately shop and enjoy lunch while getting measured for a suit, having a pair of jeans repaired, or picking up a last-minute gift,” says Eric Jennings, menswear fashion director at Saks Fifth Avenue. “As we all know, we can get anything anytime on our mobile devices. Stores can no longer just be a place to shop.”

VK Nagrani (87 E. Houston St., 646-476-6795; vknagrani .com) takes the clubhouse approach, passing clients a glass of scotch from the bar as they get fitted for a custom suit. According to Nagrani, men automatically gravitate to “an environment that yields a sense of relaxation and escape.”
