Riverside No. 1 in final Super 25 rankings

Here are the final Girls Super 25 Upstate power rankings of the 2023-24 high school basketball season.

1. Riverside

The Warriors (21-8) won the Class AAAA state championsh­ip, first in program history.

2. Wren

The Hurricanes (28-3) won 17 straight before falling in the Class AAA state title game.

3. Westside

The Rams (24-4) won 16 straight before falling to Riverside in the AAAA Upper State final.

4. J.L. Mann

The Patriots (21-5) lost by only two points to Rock Hill in the Class AAAAA Upper State final.

5. Landrum

The Cardinals (27-4) in Class AA made a state championsh­ip game for the first time since 1975.

6. Mauldin

The Mavericks (17-2), defending AAAAA state champions, had a surprising second-round exit in the playoffs.

7. Daniel

The Lions (17-0) won 11 straight games before running into Wren in the Upper State championsh­ip game.

8. Blue Ridge

The Tigers (22-6) won Region 3-AAA. They lost in the playoffs to Daniel.

9. Gaffney

The Indians (21-6) won Region 2AAAAA.

They lost to J.L. Mann in the third round.

10. Wade Hampton

The Generals (17-9) beat eventual state champion Riverside late in the regular season.

11. Dorman

The Cavaliers (18-10) won six of their last eight with a one-point loss to Gaffney and playoff loss to Mauldin.

12. Byrnes

The Rebels (17-9) were in control of Region 2-AAAAA until the last two

13. St. Joseph’s

The Knights (21-9) made it to a second straight Class A Upper State championsh­ip game.

14. Blacksburg

The Wildcats (13-12) started 4-9 but improved greatly and tied Landrum for first place in the region.

15. Chapman

The Panthers (16-9) beat Blue Ridge down the stretch but did not win a playoff game.

16. Greer

The Yellow Jackets (10-12) made it to the second round of the Class AAAA playoffs.

17. Pickens

The Blue Flame (19-6) lost four of the last five but by only seven to Riverside in the playoffs.

18 Powdersvil­le

The Patriots (14-12) beat Fountain Inn twice down to stretch for second place in Region 2.

19. Fountain Inn

The Fury (19-8) finished third in a tough region and won a road game in the playoffs.

20. Southside Christian

The Sabres (16-6) finished one game behind St. Joseph’s in Region I-A and won two playoff games.

21. Woodruff

The Wolverines (10-14) finished second in Region 4-AAA and lost by only two in the playoffs against Fountain Inn.

22. Christ Church

The Cavaliers (10-13) lost two close ones to St. Joseph’s in the regular season but by 17 in a playoff meeting.

23. Spartanbur­g

The Vikings (11-16) were only 2-6 in Region 2-AAAAA but won a playoff game.

24. Eastside

The Eagles (11-9) had one of their best wins against Wade Hampton in the regular-season finale.

25. Greenville

The Red Raiders (11-15) to end the regular season won four of six, including at Pickens.
