Hartford police officers can continue to get paid while on suspension without pay by using vacation time instead.
(0 Any employee who is suspended from work without pay, at the employee’s option, may elect to work during the suspension and have the suspension time deducted from the employee’s accumulated and accrued leave such as vacation and earned leave, but no sick leave. Employees so suspended shall not eligible for overtime or private duty assignments for the duration of such suspension.
