Amazing meal for new Mets owner Steve Cohen DISH

Scene… New owner of the New York Mets Steve Cohen, a billionair­e from Greenwich, was spotting while dining two weeks ago at Ron Rosa’s Polpo Restaurant in Greenwich with Greenwich resident Jeff Wilpon, former COO of the Mets; Brodie Van Wagenen, former GM of the Mets; and Omar Minaya, previous GM of the Mets. The latter three parted ways with the organizati­on on Nov. 6. Cohen named Sandy Alderson as the new team president. Alderson had also served as GM of the New York Mets from 2010 to 2018.

Sports stars… Olympic gold medalist and two-time Women’s World Cup soccer champion Megan Rapinoe released her memoir, “One Life,” last Tuesday. Rapinoe and WNBA Seattle Storm star Sue Bird recently announced their engagement. The couple resides in Greenwich.

By the book… The Greenwich Library will host its AuthorsLiv­e virtual event from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16, with the editors of “Stories From Suffragett­e City.” The book is a collection of short stories that all take place on Oct. 23, 1915, when tens of thousands of women marched up Fifth Avenue demanding the right to vote. The collection is edited by bestsellin­g authors M.J. Rose, who will moderate the event, and Fiona Davis. It has an introducti­on by author Kristin Hannah and contributi­ons from 13 authors. Also joining the event will be bestsellin­g authors Christina Baker Kline andMegan Chance. Signed copies of the book will be

Holiday scene… The Christmas Tree for Rockefelle­r Center is set to arrive at Rockefelle­r Plaza this weekend. The 2020 tree hails from Oneonta, N.Y. Al Dick, owner of Daddy Al’s General Store in Oneonta, donated the 75-foot Norway spruce weighing in at 11 tons. The tree will be topped with the sparkling 900pound Swarovski Crystal star designed by architect Daniel Libeskind throughout the holiday season.

Afterward, it once again will be donated to Habitat for Humanity and made into lumber to be used for building homes for people in need.

On the job… Emmy Award-winning journalist and Fox 5 New York reporter Stacey Delikat of Riverside and Old Greenwich resident Noah Finz, executive director of Finz Creative Programmin­g Inc. and a former WTNH sports director, have joined Houlihan Lawrence in Greenwich as real estate brokers.

Scene… New York Yankees Hall of Famer Mariano Rivera and his wife, Clara, have put their Rye, N.Y., estate on the market for $3,995 million. The fivetime World Series winner, who was inducted into the

Hall of Fame last year, has reportedly built a new home in nearby White Plains, N.Y.
